Please be aware that Lyyti is developed constantly and your view might not match 100% with the view described in this article.
There are a few default standard questions added to the registration page when you create a new event. One of these is the "I will participate" - question, that is needed for:
- Participant's status: those who answer Yes have the status Registered and those who select No are Declined.
- Cancelling your registration
- Declining the invitation
If you wish to allow invitees or registrants to decline the invitation or cancel their participation, the standard participation question must be shown on the registration page. So if cancelling is allowed, please do not remove this question from the registration page.
Please note that in chargeable events, participants cannot cancel their participation without contacting the event organiser.
To distinguish between standard questions from self-made questions, standard questions always have the original wording in parenthesis in the question list on the registration page.
Because the answering options will change participant's status, please edit the wording carefully. You can change the wording e.g. from Yes -> "Yes, I'd love to come" and No -> "No thanks, not this time". But do not change the actual meaning of the answering options.
One unpleasant mistake can be that the participation question is edited to something else, e.g. Do you participate:
On site (previously answering option: Yes) / Online (previously answering option: No).
In this case everyone, who have selected that they wish to participate online are now declined in Lyyti.
This means that their event tickets or personal online event links no longer work.
