The confirmation message is an e-mail which is automatically sent to participants right after they have completed their registration. You can personalise the contents, but Lyyti will also add both the event information and the participant's information to the message. It also contains a link that leads back to the participant's personal registration page, in case they need to make changes to their registration. Participants often print or save the confirmation message for later use, so it's a good place to put all the important information and details.
If you don't make any changes to the confirmation message, the contents will be as follows:
- Message subject = "Confirmation: [event name]"
- Text =
"Hello [first name]
Thank you for your registration. In this personal confirmation you will find the event's details and your own answers." - Event information
- Participant information and selections on the registration page
- Link to edit information
Creating the confirmation message - Settings on the confirmation page
- Send confirmation after registration?
Lyyti will automatically send a confirmation message to the participant after registration or any time they come back to modify information and confirm the changes. - Send copy of confirmation
A copy of every e-mail sent to a participant will also be sent to the addresses you type in this field. Use this if you wish to be notified every time someone registers or modifies their information. If you are using a Lyyti registration as an order form, you can choose to send the order directly to the supplier. - Show printable confirmation on thank you-page
Adds a print button to the thank you-page, allowing the participant to print their confirmation straight away.
Contents of the confirmation message
4) E-mail confirmation, subject of confirmation message
Subject of the confirmation e-mail. The default subject is "Confirmation: [event name]". Please note that the same subject is used for both for the message sent to the registered and to the declined/cancelled participant (if the latter is enabled).
5) Opening text for the confirmation message
The actual confirmation e-mail begins with text written here. The default text is "This is your personal confirmation." but we recommend tailoring it to every event, e.g. "Thank you for registering to [event name]". You can also personalise the message with the participant's name. For example, "Hi %RECEIVER_FIRSTNAME%" would result in "Hi Joe" or "Hi Matt" etc., according to participant's name. Click the Personalisation of e-mails link above the editor to copy and paste different personalisation codes.
What should you include in the confirmation message?
Add all the information that is important to the participant: what to bring to the event, transportation, dress code, etc.
Automatic content of the confirmation message:
Event information
Click Event information button to open a list of all the event information that is included in the confirmation. You can select/deselect what information you'd like to include.
Participant information
Click on the Participant information button to open a list of all the event information that is included in the confirmation. Answers to every question are shown by default, but, if necessary, you can select which questions you wish to include in the e-mail by selecting "Select" in "Participant's answers to questions".
Please note that notice texts added to the registration page are not included in the confirmation unless selected individually, as instructed above.
Event with participant types: You can create different confirmations for different participant types by creating notice texts on the registration page AND hiding them from the registration page. You can hide notice texts / questions by editing them and deselecting every language option in "Show question: English/Finnish/...". After this, select the notice text to be shown in the confirmation.
6) Ticket/ QR-code
You can attach participant tickets or QR-codes and deliver them automatically with the confirmation message. This feature can be used both in chargeable and non-chargeable events. If you have a non-chargeable event, the ticket looks the same, it just won't show any pricing information.
- The ticket identifier can be either a QR code or a normal barcode. Lyyti's QR codes can only be read with Lyyti's own mobile application, found in your application store. To read barcodes you would need a separate barcode reader, from which you would need to import the codes into Lyyti after the event.
- Select if you want to show the participant type on the ticket. On the example above, the participant type is "VIP", printed below the QR code.
- There is a field for a short text of 100 characters on the ticket. Use this for advertising or as a note to the participant. You can leave the field empty, as on the sample ticket above.
Name badge
Include a name badge in the confirmation so each participant can print their own badge. Remember to select which fields (e.g. name & company) you wish to print on the badge.
Confirmation message to cancelled/declined participants
Confirmation messages to cancelled/declined participants are hardly ever used. When a participant is not attending, they are usually not interested in the event anymore. However, you can use this confirmation message to market upcoming events or to give the participant the option to change their mind and revisit the registration page.
SMS confirmation
In addition to confirmation e-mails, Lyyti can also send SMS confirmations. This, of course, requires that the participant has given their mobile phone number (and that the mobile phone question is a Standard question). The message is always sent from the number 16130 and it is a one-way number. Replies to that number won't go anywhere, so remember to add your own sender information at the end of the SMS.
SMS confirmations cost the same as normal SMSs sent from Lyyti, which is 0,10 € / SMS. The cost depends on the message lenght as follows:
- 0-160 characters = 1 message
- 161-306 characters = 2 messages
- 307-459 characters = 3 messages
- 460-612 characters = 4 messages
- 613-765 characters = 5 messages
SMS messages can be personalised in the same way as e-mails.
- Send SMS also to the declined
You can send automated confirmation SMSs to the declined and write a different message to them. It works the same way as the normal SMS confirmation.
