What is a confirmation message and what to include
The confirmation message is an e-mail that is automatically sent to participants right after they have completed their registration. You can personalise the contents, but Lyyti will also add both the event information and the participant's information to the message. It also contains a link that leads back to the participant's personal registration page, in case they need to make changes to their registration. Participants often print or save the confirmation message for later use, so it's a good place to put all the important information and details.
What should you include in the confirmation message?
Add all the information that is important to the participant: what to bring to the event, transportation, dress code, etc.
If you don't make any changes to the confirmation message, the contents will be as follows:
- Message subject = "Confirmation: [event name]"
- Text =
"Hello [first name]
Thank you for your registration. In this personal confirmation, you will find the event's details and your own answers."
- Event information
- Participant information and selections on the registration page
- Link to edit information
There are two versions of the confirmation email available at the moment: classic and enhanced.
- When creating a new event, the enhanced confirmation is used by default.
- When copying an event, the new event will use the same version of the confirmation as the original event
- The original event uses the classic confirmation --> the copied event will use the classic version too
- The original event uses the enhanced confirmation --> the copied event will use the enhanced version too
This can still be changed as you go and edit the event!
Enhanced confirmation
Automation settings of the confirmation message
1. Send confirmation after registration
Lyyti will automatically send a confirmation message to the participant after registration or any time they come back to modify information and confirm the changes. In group registration events, you can select if the confirmation email is sent to the group's contact person, the participants or to both of them.
2. Send confirmation message to declined participants
Lyyti will automatically send a confirmation message to the declined participant after declining/cancelling or any time they come back to modify information and confirm the changes that they are not attending.
3. Send copy of confirmation
A copy of every e-mail sent to a participant will also be sent to the addresses you type in this field. Use this if you wish to be notified every time someone registers or modifies their information. If you are using a Lyyti registration as an order form, you can choose to send the order directly to the supplier.
4. Show printable confirmation on thank you-page
Adds a print button to the thank-you page, allowing the participant to print their confirmation straight away.
5. Allow recipient to forward confirmation on thank-you page
Adds a new field to the thank-you page, where the participant can enter an email address to which they want to send a copy of their confirmation message.
Contents of the confirmation message for the registered
6. E-mail confirmation, subject of confirmation message
The subject of the confirmation e-mail. The default subject is "Confirmation: [event name]". You can define a separate subject for the confirmation for the declined.
7. Automatic content
Event and participant details are automatically updated to your confirmation email as a personalisation code, which we refer to as Automatic content. Select which details you want the participant to have about the event as well as their own answers.
Event information
Click the Event information drop-down menu to open a list of all the event information that is included in the confirmation. You can select/deselect what information you'd like to include.
Participant information
Click on the Participant information drop-down menu to open a list of all the event information that is included in the confirmation. Answers to every question are shown by default, but, if necessary, you can select which questions you wish to include in the e-mail by selecting "Choose what to show" in "Participant's answers to questions".
Please note that notice texts added to the registration page are not included in the confirmation unless selected individually, as instructed above.
Event with participant types: You can create different confirmations for different participant types by creating notice texts on the registration page AND hiding them from the registration page. You can hide notice texts/questions by editing them and deselecting every language option in "Show question: English/Finnish/...". After this, select the notice text to be shown in the confirmation.
8. Edit confirmation email
The actual confirmation e-mail begins with a written text. There's a default text, but we recommend tailoring it to every event, e.g. "Thank you for registering to [event name]" and adding other important information about the upcoming event, how to prepare, etc.
To edit the contents, click Edit confirmation email.
You can read more about how the editor works here.
Tips
When editing the content of your confirmation message, you can choose to show automatic content separately. This can be done by choosing event information and participant details as separate personalisation texts.
When you add event information content and participant details separately, you can also edit the font size.
N.B. Do not use %AUTOMATIC_CONTENT% if you use personalisation text for event information and participant details.
Ticket/ QR-code
You can attach participant tickets or QR-codes and deliver them automatically with the confirmation message. This feature can be used both in chargeable and non-chargeable events. If you have a non-chargeable event, the ticket looks the same, it just won't show any pricing information.
- The ticket identifier can be either a QR code or a normal barcode. Lyyti's QR codes can only be read with Lyyti's own mobile application, found in your application store. To read barcodes you would need a separate barcode reader, from which you would need to import the codes into Lyyti after the event.
- Select if you want to show the participant type on the ticket. On the example above, the participant type is "VIP", printed below the QR code.
Name badge
Include a name badge in the confirmation so each participant can print their own badge. Remember to select which fields (e.g. name & company) you wish to print on the badge.
Confirmation message to declined/cancelled participants
The confirmation messages to declined/cancelled participants is not commonly used. When a participant is not attending, they are usually not interested in the event anymore. However, you can use this confirmation message to market upcoming events or give the participant the option to change their mind and revisit the registration page.
SMS confirmation
In addition to confirmation e-mails, Lyyti can also send SMS confirmations. This, of course, requires that the participant has given their mobile phone number (and that the mobile phone question is a Standard question). The confirmation SMS are invoiced the same way as normal SMS messages. Read more here.
The message is always sent from the number 16130 and it is a one-way number. Replies to that number won't go anywhere, so remember to add your own sender information at the end of the SMS.
Note that the default sender can still be changed on a company level. Your company's Lyyti admin user may contact Lyyti's customer support, who is able to change the default sender to a more suitable number or text.
SMS messages can be personalised by selecting personalisation codes in the editor's drop-down menus.
We're sunsetting the SMS confirmation for the declined, which is why it is not included in the enhanced confirmation anymore.
The pricing of SMS messages
Text messages / SMS confirmation messages are invoiced every 3 months, the minimum invoice-able fee is 20€ and if that is not achieved the sum will be bumped to the next invoice.
One message costs 0,11 € per recipient and 160 characters count for one message. When you write an SMS, you can include 5 messages in one SMS - thus, this message would cost 0,55 € per recipient.
The length of one text message is counted as follows:
- 0-160 characters = 1 message
- 161-306 characters = 2 messages
- 307-459 characters = 3 messages
- 460-612 characters = 4 messages
- 613-765 characters = 5 messages
Classic confirmation
*** We'll soon sunset the classic confirmation, which is why we highly recommend using the enhanced confirmation if possible.***

5) Opening text for the confirmation message
The actual confirmation e-mail begins with text written here. The default text is "This is your personal confirmation." but we recommend tailoring it to every event, e.g. "Thank you for registering to [event name]". Confirmation message to cancelled/declined participants
Confirmation messages to cancelled/declined participants are hardly ever used. When a participant is not attending, they are usually not interested in the event anymore. However, you can use this confirmation message to market upcoming events or to give the participant the option to change their mind and revisit the registration page.
SMS confirmation
In addition to confirmation e-mails, Lyyti can also send SMS confirmations. SMS confirmations cost the same as normal SMSs sent from Lyyti, which is 0,10 € / SMS. The cost depends on the message lenght as follows:
- 0-160 characters = 1 message
- 161-306 characters = 2 messages
- 307-459 characters = 3 messages
- 460-612 characters = 4 messages
- 613-765 characters = 5 messages
SMS messages can be personalised in the same way as e-mails.
- Send SMS also to the declined
You can send automated confirmation SMSs to the declined and write a different message to them. It works the same way as the normal SMS confirmation.
