In order to send emails from Lyyti using a specific domain, for example your company's domain, the domain must be verified in Lyyti. The domain is the latter part of an e-mail address, for example company.com or yourorganisation.com. It is your company's Lyyti admin user that has access to the verification page in Lyyti. For more information about domain verification, click here. In this article we will focus on the phases in creating an event that are affected by this domain issue.
Sending an e-mail, for example an invitation
When you create an e-mail, the sender is automatically the event organiser. You can change this under Settings. Lyyti shows you all domains that have been verified by your organisation. E-mails that have these endings can be used as senders. Select the desired domain and enter the beginning of the address.
If your organisation hasn't verified your domain yet, don't worry! In that case you can use the domain user.lyyti.com. When using this domain, Lyyti automatically creates you a sender address based on your Lyyti username. If a recipient replies to your message sent from this address, it will be redirected automatically to the email used as your Lyyti login, so no messages will be lost.
You can still define a different reply-to address for your e-mail. In the image below, Riitta is marked as the sender, but if someone replies to the message, it will be sent to Jenny at jenny.ahokas(a)lyyti.com.
Sending confirmation e-mail
The event's organiser is automatically your Lyyti username. The automatic confirmation e-mail Lyyti is sent from the organiser's address, or if the domain hasn't been verified in Lyyti, from an automatically generated address in the form of yourusername.youraddress(a)user.lyyti.com, for example. john.doe.company(a)user.lyyti.com.
You can change the event organiser on the page Event information, by clicking on Change organiser. Enter the organiser's name (1) and e-mail address (2) in their respective fields. If the e-mails' domain hasn't been verified in Lyyti, the confirmation will be sent from the automatically generated yourusername.yourcompany(a)username.com. The confirmation message itself will show the entered address as the organiser.
If a participant replies to the confirmation e-mail, the answer is forwarded to your Lyyti username's e-mail address (the address you use to log into Lyyti).
