In Lyyti it is easy to create a hybrid event to which participants can take part in either onsite or online. In this article we will tell you step by step in how to create a hybrid event.

Event information -page
Set your event as a hybrid event on Event information page. This way you can fill in both the address to the onsite event as well as the link to the online event.
We recommend that you create two participant types for your event (one for those who will come to the location and one for those who will join online). On the Reports-page you can get statistics on who will attend onsite and who will attend online. You can add capacities to the participant types and also activate the waiting list.
NB. Participants will first arrive to the page where they select their participant type. We recommend that you give instructions to the participants. Instructions can be written to the presentation text. Generally it is good to tell what the registration is for (event name), what the participant should do now (select a participant type) and what they will do next (continue to fill in their information on the registration page).

You can tailor your registration page by the participant types. If you wish to add guidance that is only visible to the ones participating e.g. online, you can add notice texts. You can choose which participant type will see questions / notice texts.
If you want to, you can also hide notice texts from the registration page. The participant will get the information shared in the notice text when they receive their confirmation message.
It is possible to add a calendar note. Participant's link to the online event is included in the calendar note.
N.B. Link to the online-event is only added to individual registrations, not when registering with a companion or as a group.
Link to the online event is added to all participant types, including those who are participating onsite.
The content of the confirmation page is the same for all participant types. It is best to share information that suites for both participant types. If you have participant type -specific information that you wish to add to confirmation page, we recommend that you add it to the registration page as a notice text and then hide the notice text from the registration page.
Confirmation messages obey participant type selection. If a question is set visible only to certain participant type, the question is also shown only in this participant type's confirmation message.
However, Link to online event is shown to all participant types, also those who are participating onsite.
Waiting list settings
If you have set capacities for your participant types, you can activate the participant type specific waiting lists:
N.B. If you have selected calendar note and you've ticked Link to online event in confirmation message, these are shown to all participant types (also those participating onsite)!
The link to online event in calendar note / confirmation message will take the participant to a Lyyti's waiting room where they can join the event online an hour in advance. When the participant clicks the Join event button, their status is changed from registered to attending in the Participants page.
