In this article we will give you tips how you can export successfully CSV-reports to Excel. Problem might be that CSV-reports use comma as as a decimal separator, and due to some regional differencies in practice, Excel might use a dot (" . ") as desimal separator.
Solution:
- Open CSV report
- Change decimal separator to comma from Excel's Settings (File -> Options -> Advanced -> Decimal separator)
- Also remove tick from "Use system separators"
- Save and close Excel.
- Reopen Excel. Numbers should appear correctly now.
If this didn't help, you can convert numbers saved as text back to numbers like this:
- Activate cells and use command "text to columns" (Top heading: Data -> Data tools -> Text to columns)
- Text to columns-wizard will open. Click to Finish.
- Now when numbers are recognised correctly, you can change decimal separator back to dot.
- Save and close Excel.
- Reopen Excel, numbers are now correctly and decimal separator is dot instead of comma.
