What is a domain and what does it mean to verify it?
The domain is the latter part of your email address; e.g. in your.name@company.com the domain is company.com. The verification means that your domain accepts that the messages are sent from Lyyti and thus increases the delivery rate and trustworthiness of your e-mails. After verifying your domain, the e-mails you send from Lyyti with that domain fulfill global e-mail standards and the mails are considered reliable. This also helps the recipients e-mail server to allow e-mails to come through. After verification, you can send e-mails from Lyyti with our own address as the sender, for example your.name@company.com. If the domain is not verified, the sender will always be your.name.company@user.lyyti.com.
Do we have to verify our domain / What if we don't verify our domain?
Verifying your domain is not mandatory. If the domain is not verified, e-mails and confirmation messages sent from your Lyyti account will always be sent from a user.lyyti.com address, for example your.name.company@user.lyyti.com.
Who can verify a domain?
Your company's Admin user can add new domains in the section Company Settings > Sending domains. The actual verification process requires technical changes to your domain's DNS TXT record. If your company's Lyyti admin user doesn't have the possibility or skills to verify your domain, they can always turn to your IT department or whoever is responsible for your domains.
I cannot verify our domain, what do I do?
If you are not your company's admin user, you cannot start the verification process. In that case, please contact your company's admin user. To see who that is, go to My account at the top right corner in Lyyti.
If you are the admin user, but you don't have the possibility or skills to verify a domain, you can ask your IT department or whoever is responsible for your domains to do the verification. Simply send them a link found in Lyyti, in the left menu under Company Settings > E-mail address. For more information, see instructions for admin user.
I cannot find the section "Company settings" under my Lyyti account
"Company settings" is only visible to your organisation's Lyyti admin user. If you cannot see this section, please contact your Lyyti admin user. You can find their contact infromation under "My account", at the top right corner in Lyyti. If you feel that you should be an admin user in your company, please contact Lyyti's customer service.
How do I know which domains we have verified?
To check your verified domains, go to My account, at the top right corner in Lyyti.
Why is my e-mail's sender address in the form of @user.lyyti.com?
@user.lyyti.com is used as the e-mail sender domain when your organisation hasn't verified any domains yet. The domain user.lyyti.com makes e-mails reliable to receiving e-mail servers, so they allow e-mails to come through more easily. Therefore, you can use this domain normally.
Where are replies sent, if the sender is @user.lyyti.com?
When sending e-mails from Lyyti with the sender address being @user.lyyti.com, are replies mainly sent to your Lyyti accounts e-mail address. We still recommend adding a reply-to address to the e-mail. After doing this, replies will be sent to the address you entered.
Can I change the event organiser's address, if the domain hasn't been verified?
You can change the organiser's name even though the domain hasn't been verified. However the organiser's e-mail address cannot be changed, if the new address's domain hasn't been verified for your company. In that case, the sender will be your @user.lyyti.com address.
