What is domain verification
In order to send emails from Lyyti using your company domain, the domain must be verified in Lyyti. Domain is the latter part of your email address; e.g. in firstname.lastname@example.org the domain is company.com. The verification means that your domain accepts the messages sent from Lyyti and thus increases the delivery rate and trustworthiness of your emails.
If no domain is verified, you can still send emails normally, but the sender will be in the form of email@example.com. If your participant answers the email, the answer will be delivered to the address you’ve defined as the reply-to address. So in any case the messages won’t get lost.
The verification can be done by the Lyyti Admin users of your company in the Company Settings > E-mail address. Here you find your verified domains and the ones you've added (reserved) but haven't verified yet. By clicking the settings-icon you can see the verification process and what's possibly missing. If the list of domains is empty, your organisation doesn't have verified domains in Lyyti yet.
Add a new domain
Verifying a domain requires technical changes to the domain's record, so you might need to ask your domain administrator or your company's IT department for help. You can create a link for the administrator, through which they can make the changes. Click Create link, copy the link and send it to the right person. We recommend this option if you're not familiar with the email or domain settings yourself. If you can verify the domain yourself, click Add new domain.
Write on the pop up -window your domain and click Add new domain.
Verifying a domain
In order to verify the domain, you need to:
- Add the SPF information to the domain's DNS-record
- Add the DKIM information to the domain's DNS-record
- Verify the ownership of the domain. This is where the program makes sure the domain is in your company's disposition and that you're allowed to use it.
Ensure that the verification is completed by clicking Check on the bottom of the page.
The successfully completed steps are displayed green; if something is still missing, it's show as red. When everything is OK, the status of the domain will change from Incomplete to In use on the E-mail address -page (see the first picture of this article).
