Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 is an international group of guidelines for making web content more accessible. There are different levels (A, AA and AAA), and especially in Finnish government, levels A and AA are mostly required.
The purpose of the accessibility audit is to identify issues and deficiencies that hinder the use and understanding of the website. By addressing the identified accessibility issues, the website will fully or largely comply with the requirements of the Act on the Provision of Digital Services. This will also improve the user experience and make the service more accessible to all users. In addition to the identified deficiencies, the website may have other accessibility issues. Developing and maintaining accessibility is an ongoing process and should be a part of continuous development.

2. Background about Evaluation
Lyyti’s accessibility has been audited on 17.6.2025. The audit has been performed by experts at Selko Digital with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 A and AA success criteria.
In this audit, accessibility deficiencies and issues are categorised into four different severity levels: critical, major, minor, and recommendation. Critical and major deficiencies are recommended to be corrected immediately to ensure the site is usable by as many people as possible. By addressing critical, major, and minor accessibility deficiencies, the site will fully or largely comply with the requirements of the Act on the Provision of Digital Services. Other deficiencies and issues are also recommended to be corrected to improve the usability and accessibility of the service.
Critical
A critical accessibility issue or deficiency significantly hinders or completely prevents some users from using the website. It is a serious accessibility problem on the website. It is recommended to address such issues immediately.
Major
A major accessibility issue or deficiency affects the use or understanding of the site. It does not completely prevent the use but can make navigating or functioning within the service unnecessarily difficult. Some users may find it hard to access all information and use the features.
Minor
A minor accessibility issue or deficiency reduces usability. It does not prevent the use of the site or access to information, but several minor issues lower the overall user experience. Minor accessibility issues and deficiencies are recommended to be corrected to improve user experience and accessibility, as well as to meet legal requirements.
Recommendation
Not an actual deficiency against accessibility guidelines or the Act on the Provision of Digital Services. However, it weakens the user experience. Addressing these recommendations improves the user experience and accessibility of the service.

6. Results – the Accessibility Status
The accessibility status of the lyyti.fi registrations and events -service is Good. The service has only a few accessibility issues that prevent use or significantly impair usability. However, it should be noted that the test environment is partially missing textual content, which makes it difficult to evaluate context-dependent accessibility issues.
From a cognitive perspective, the absence of textual content hinders the evaluation of the service. However, at a general level, navigation within the service is straightforward and the pages follow a consistent interaction logic. Some elements could be implemented more uniformly.
From a keyboard user's perspective, the service is overall easy to use.
From an assistive technology user's perspective, the service is not currently usable. However, this is mostly due to the lack of textual content. From a technical perspective, the service is well-implemented and easy to use. Most information and functionality are accessible to assistive technology users. Nevertheless, the user experience could be enhanced by resolving the identified accessibility issues.
Responsiveness of the service is at a very high level, with little to no issues to note.
There were only two deficiencies in accessibility that were identified as critical. There were more deficiencies identified as major or minor deficiencies: ten major deficiencies and 18 minor deficiencies. Two deficiencies were categorised as recommendations.
All accessibility issues are listed in the Accessibility Statement and Lyyti is committed in fixing the issues according to recommendations and the severity of the deficiency or the issue.
