Public participant type
When you have public participant types in the event, the person registering selects which participant type they belong to, for example Participant or VIP. In this case, you would have one open registration link (for example www.lyyti.in/autumnconcert) that will lead to the selection of participant types. (How to create participant types)
Not public participant type
You can also hide participant types so they are not visible to the registrants or they can only be accessed with a dedicated registration link. To do this, mark the participant type as Not public (click on "Public" to change type).
If all participant types are not public, the event's general open registration link is disable and you need to create separate links for each participant type (for example www.lyyti.in/seminarguests and www.lyyti.in/seminarVIP). This allows you to send different links to different audiences and guide them directly to the correct participant type. (How to create own links for each participant type)
Public and not public participant types in the event
When there are both public and not public participant types in the event, clicking a not public registration link leads directly to that participant type's registration page. So if you want to help the participant by not forcing them to select a certain participant type, send them directly a link to a not public participant type.
Please note: Group registration
In group registration you can choose which participant types are allowed to each group. This way a participant with a free ticket can later on add chargeable tickets to their group. To allow this, go to the Participants page > find group > Edit > All public participant types: Edit > Select which participant types are allowed to this group > Save.
Sending invitations
When importing invitees into an event with participant types, you can predefine a participant type to the invitees during the Excel import. To do this, import invitees one participant type at a time.
Please note that if you only have not public participant types in the event and you wish to send personal registration links, you must select a participant type for every invitee. Otherwise Lyyti won't know which participant type each invitee should be directed to. (How to import invitees)
Example:
You can also hide some participant types and keep others public. For example, Participant and VIP (invitees can select) could be public but personnel not public (=cannot be selected). Then you can invite your personnel through a separate open registration link (not public participant type) or import them into Lyyti, define that they belong to the participant type Personnel and send them personal invitations from Lyyti.
